What Is A World of Warcraft Limited Edition Keyset? And How Useful Is It?

When designing a keyboard or keyset, for a game like World of Warcraft, there are a number of setbacks. The most immediate of these, is the need for players to be able to type normally. Because of this, the manufacturers have compressed the keys on the keyboard and eliminated the numeric keypad. The latter has been replaced with a set of one touch hot-keys for a number of gaming functions.

If asked, almost every World of Warcraft player, would suggest a different selection of twenty keys, which they would find useful. So is the manufacturer’s choice, the most useful they could come up with? Probably not.

The main functions of the keyset, are:

1. To control the World of Warcraft - Speed and control for all the default game commands, including bag opening, targeting friends and foe and looking at maps. All these are clearly labelled on the keys.

2. Reveal Emotions - Macros enabled keys can perform multiple actions and reveal such emotions as, laughing and roaring in victory. All this at the push of a button!

3. Speciality Zones - Group commands are in two zones, the Game Window zone and the Chat Command zone. There are also yell or whisper and spell book access, as well as access to Character interface commands.

4. Custom Labeled Commands - Making it easy to interact with the World of Warcraft game. You can select weapons, cast spells and target who will feel either your goodwill or your wrath.

The main section of the keyboard is rather colourful and full of text, compared with an ordinary keyboard. Printed on every key is a reminder of what that button is used for and it is claimed that this not only enhances the gaming experience, but also immerses you in the action.

Of course to really appreciate this wonderful World of Warcraft Limited Edition Keyset, you also need a Z-Board Gaming Keyboard, to put it on. The World of Warcraft keyset, is of no use for anything other than playing the game, but once it is removed from the Z-Board Gaming Keyboard and the standard keyset replaced, your computer is back to normal.
